Picture of the Day

Markets like this one line the road between Kampala and Jinja. When vehicles stop, it's a free for all; vendors swarm, stuffing arms through the windows with their goods, insisting that you buy water, meat on sticks (which I never take), gnuts, gonja (roasted bananas which I often do take) and various types of produce.

I liked this shot because it also conveys Uganda's virtues; wide, easy smiles; relaxed, friendly greetings; casualness and community; Africaness.
